Let me first start by saying what coaching isn’t. Coaching isn’t a guaranteed quick-fix. Coaching doesn’t find all of the answers for you. Coaching doesn’t change your life – you do.
As your coach, I will help you dig deep to face your fears and mental blocks, identify what you value most, and develop a plan of action that works for you.
As your coach, I will help you develop your “why.” I will help you discover what’s most important to you so that you naturally feel more motivated to take the next right step for you. I will ask you powerful questions that help you find the answers you already have within you. A-ha moments are fun, and they mean so much more than any answer I could provide. That said, I will offer suggestions and feedback as appropriate. I’m here to support you all the way.
How does coaching differ from counseling?
- Coaching is not for people who need therapy to overcome painful influences from the past; coaches help people build vision and move toward the future.
- Coaching is not about looking back reactively; it’s about looking ahead proactively.
- Coaching is not about healing, it’s about growing.
- Coaching focuses less on overcoming weaknesses and more on building skills and strengths.
- Coaching is usually less formal then the counselor/counselee relationship; more often it is a partnership between two equals, one of whom has experiences, perspectives, skills, or knowledge that can be useful to the other.
Counselors help people deal with problems such as depression, anxiety, inner turmoil, and conflicts with others. Unlike counseling or therapy, many people view coaching as less threatening, less concerned with problem solving, and more inclined to empower people to reach their potential.
Whereas counseling deals with negative psychology and helps people move from their problem areas to a point of stability, coaching deals with positive psychology and helps people move toward higher levels of fulfillment. Counseling is problem focused and frequently centers on the past. Coaching focuses on possibilities and centers on where people want to go in the future.

90 Minute Life Coaching Sessions
We can talk about transitions, callings, big decisions, building a blog following, how to use social media for good, how to navigate educational options for your child, or whatever else is on your heart.
Once you sign up for a session, I’ll ask that you fill out a brief questionnaire and coaching agreement. I’ll come prepared to jump right in, having already read over all information you share with me. We will spend 90 minutes per session at the time(s) we schedule together, then you will receive a follow up report containing action steps, suggested reading, and further recommendations at the conclusion of each session.
Investment: $75 If you need more than one session, I’d be more than happy to discuss package rates.
